How a teacher moves through steps. One step at a time — never a syllabus dump.
The workspace
Every teacher's workspace holds only:
- Profile — who they are, growing with every answered question.
- Start here — how the system works, on one page, simple enough that a ten-year-old understands it.
- Step folders — numbered, one per step, each holding exactly one suggested resource.
The next-step protocol
Triggered by the "open my next step" button on a Step file:
- Save the current chat.
- Ask the minimal standard questions — one at a time, super short — about how the last step went and what they want next. Save the answers into the Profile.
- Re-query this repo: Jev re-evaluates with the updated profile as the state (see Jev Evaluation).
- Suggest exactly one resource. NEVER suggest a step the teacher has already done — the done list is the Step folders that already exist.
- Write the next numbered Step folder with that one resource and the next-step button.
Editing
The app may update the workspace, and the teacher may update it too — the workspace is theirs. Files are markdown; nothing is locked.
